Where Every Hour Is Filled with Care, Connection, and Purpose
At Day Springs Ragdolls, each day begins not with an alarm clock but with the soft sounds of tiny paws stretching and purring.
Our cattery is not a separate building or back room— it’s the heart of our home.
From sunrise to evening, we fully nurture our kittens with presence, patience, and purpose.
10:00 AM – Gentle Beginnings
The day starts with quiet check-ins. We gently greet each litter, offering soft voices and loving hands. Kittens are weighed, bottle-fed (if needed), and given a health check to ensure everyone is thriving. The mothers are given fresh food, water, and special attention because a happy, healthy queen means happy kittens.
11:00 AM – Clean, Cozy Spaces
Cleanliness is essential to raising confident, healthy kittens. We refresh bedding, sanitize play areas, clean litter trays, and open up sunny windows for fresh air. This helps the kittens learn cleanliness and prepares them for life in a tidy home environment.
12:00 PM – Social Hour Begins
This is one of the most essential parts of the day. We gently introduce kittens to new textures, toys, and sounds — from soft classical music to the hum of a vacuum — always at their comfort level. We spend one-on-one time cuddling, speaking, and building trust. We allow children (when appropriate) to visit and interact calmly, teaching kittens how to enjoy different kinds of touch and voice.
2:00 PM – Midday Meals & Nap Time
While the kittens nap, we prepare fresh food and restock supplies. We also reply to client emails, update future families with photos, and journal the developmental milestones each kitten reaches.
3:00 PM – Exploration & Enrichment
Kittens are invited into larger play areas to explore new climbing posts, puzzles, and tunnels. Some learn to follow a wand toy, while others bravely hop into a carrier for a practice car ride. This time helps them become curious, playful, and adaptable, not fearful.
4:00 PM – Grooming & Handling
We brush each kitten gently and trim tiny nails, helping them become accustomed to being touched in the ways they will be as pets and therapy companions. We feel their paws, ears, and tails in ways that mimic veterinary visits and gentle therapy interactions.
8:00 PM – Wind Down with Love
As the day winds down, we offer one last play session, a meal, and cozy snuggles. Many kittens drift off to sleep in our laps or arms, wrapped in the comfort of human connection. We end the day as we began — with calm voices, soft hands, and hearts full of love.
12:00 AM – One Last Round
We make one final round checking each Queen, kitten, and our Sires. We ensure all is clean, tidy, and the lactating Queens are fed as well as kittens. We hold our kittens one final time before we head off to bed.
2:00 AM -Time for Sleep to Prepare for a New Day!
Every hour at Day Springs Ragdolls is a step in raising emotionally grounded, socially confident kittens.
It’s not just our job — it’s our calling. And it’s our joy to share these companions with families who need them most.
